North Jersey School Delays and Closures for Thursday

With snow, sleet, and freezing conditions expected overnight into Thursday morning, several North Jersey schools have announced delayed openings and closures.

Weather Advisory and Travel Warnings

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for North Jersey, in effect from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday. Snow and sleet accumulation in some areas is expected to be between 1 to 2 inches.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation has warned that roads could be icy during the morning commute and advised drivers to plan extra travel time, slow down, and obey speed limits.

Additionally, some county and state offices will have delayed openings (see the list at the bottom).

Morris County Basketball Tournament Adjustments

Due to the forecast, some Morris County Tournament second-round basketball games were moved to Wednesday.
