Expedia Launches New Flight Deals Feature

Expedia has introduced a new money-saving tool for deal-seekers: Flight Deals, a brand-new feature available exclusively on the app. This tool allows users to browse flight offers worldwide or filter results by destination and travel dates. Located under the “Search” tab in the app, Flight Deals provides an easy way to find affordable flights.

Expedia announced today that Flight Deals is a customizable feed that highlights fares at least 20% cheaper than the typical expected price.

What makes Expedia Flight Deals unique is its ability to continuously analyze millions of flights, identifying deals that meet strict cost and quality standards. Offers are determined using historical data and pricing context, then filtered to exclude options with multiple stops or excessively long layovers.

How It Works

Located in the app under the “Search” tab, Flight Deals offers an open-ended way to explore flights. Travelers simply select a home airport and instantly browse flight deals worldwide, with estimated price differences displayed in the feed. Users can also refine results by destination and travel dates, as well as set up custom deal alerts.

“What’s unique about Flight Deals is the transparency and insight we provide to travelers regarding flight prices,” said Josh Templin, Vice President of Product at Expedia Group. “We use proprietary machine-learning technology to analyze millions of flights daily, considering dozens of pricing factors. This empowers travelers to make well-informed decisions, making trip planning easier and ensuring they feel confident about the deal they booked.”

Key Features of Flight Deals

Personalized Feed – Browse flight deals worldwide or filter by destination and travel dates.
Significant Savings – A fare must be at least 20% lower than the typical expected price to qualify as a Flight Deal. Savings are displayed in the feed based on an analysis of 30+ factors, including historical pricing, booking windows, and seasonality.
No Hidden CostsFlight Deals is 100% free for all One Key members, with no fees to access global flight deals or set custom alerts (unlike other platforms).
Best Flights Only – The feature excludes routes with multiple stops or excessively long layovers.
Constantly Updated – Uses AI to analyze over 2 million flights daily, ensuring that only the most recent deals (less than 24 hours old) are shown.
Custom Deal Alerts – Since airfare prices fluctuate daily, travelers can set up custom notifications and get alerts when new deals appear for specific destinations and travel dates.
Seamless Booking – Browse and book flights directly within the app, managing the entire trip with Expedia’s self-service tools.
