Nationwide Recall of First Aid Beauty Face Moisturizer Due to FDA Risk Classification
First Aid Beauty has voluntarily recalled a popular face moisturizer nationwide, with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classifying the recall under its second-highest risk level.
Why This Recall Matters
While beauty products are not recalled as frequently as prescription drugs or food, consumers should remain informed about affected products as they can pose potential health or safety risks.
Key Details of the Recall
On December 23, First Aid Beauty recalled 2,756 jars of its Ultra Repair Cream. The recall was initiated due to a deviation from Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) regulations, which are essential to ensure product safety and effectiveness.
According to the FDA, “Product intended for quarantine was inadvertently distributed,” highlighting a regulatory compliance issue.
The FDA defines a recall as the “firm’s removal or correction of a marketed product that FDA considers to be in violation of the laws we administer and against which we would initiate legal action.” On January 23, the recall was classified as Class II, indicating that the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, with a low probability of serious harm.
Product Details:
- Affected Lot Numbers: 24D44 and 24D45
- Expiration Dates: April 10 and 11, 2026
- Distribution: Nationwide
First Aid Beauty’s products are widely popular and frequently featured on social media platforms.
Other Recent Recalls
Several product recalls have been reported recently, including:
- 230,000 firearm red dot sights recalled due to noncompliance with federal child-resistant packaging and warning label requirements.
- Food recalls, such as barbecue sauce containing undeclared allergens, spice powder with potential lead contamination, and yogurt possibly contaminated with plastic.
Consumer Guidance
The FDA advises cosmetic firms to take corrective actions to prevent similar violations in the future, including:
- Identifying the cause of the issue
- Implementing necessary changes to avoid recurrence
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Ultra Repair Cream should check the product packaging for batch codes and stop using it immediately. For additional information, customers can visit the FDA’s website or contact the distributor directly.
